The journey

At the foot of the sacred mountain.

Regarded as the abode of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash is more than a destination. This pilgrimage adds the devotional experience of Charan Sparsh: touching the sacred feet and base area of Mount Kailash.

The route combines spiritual rituals, Himalayan overland travel, careful acclimatization, and high-altitude trekking across Nepal and Tibet. Guides, drivers, permits, vegetarian meals, accommodation, and support staff are arranged so pilgrims can focus on the religious journey.

Best season

Clearer skies. Safer passage.

Pre-monsoon May-June and post-monsoon September-October bring more stable weather, clearer views, and safer trail and road conditions. Winter and monsoon travel is discouraged due to cold, snow, landslides, roadblocks, and poor visibility.

Transport & difficulty

A supported high-altitude journey.

This moderate-to-challenging route requires stamina and acclimatization. Travel is overland via Kathmandu, Rasuwagadhi, Kerung, Saga, Mansarovar, Darchen, and Dirapuk. Guides support pilgrims through the Kailash Kora and Dolma La Pass.

Food & accommodation

Simple comfort, full support.

Kathmandu stays are at Hotel on full board. Route accommodation uses hotels and guesthouses in Rasuwagadhi and Tibet. Remote facilities are basic, with vegetarian meals and an emphasis on hygiene, rest, and energy maintenance.

Permits & documents

Handled from end to end.

Tibet group permits, the Chinese visa, and special Kailash-Mansarovar access permits are arranged. Pilgrims must provide a valid passport, passport photos, and medical fitness documentation.
